Chris Bayer Knocking out the old-time banjo and fingerpicking early rag-time pop hits, Chris Bayer holds forth with a fusilade of wild plunk on old-time banjo and banjo-guitar. Pounding out gold rush favorites like "Seeing the Elephant"--1858-- Chris illustrates the long lost but not forgotten repertoire of far western mining songs composed for 19th century banjo. With ragtime classics like "Living A Ragtime Life"--1900--Chris raises lowdown picking to new heights. Spanning the gamut of roots syncopation, his performance gives new meaning to the word "twang." |
