Desert Oasis Music Festival

The popular Desert Oasis Music Festival has returned after an eight year hiatus. The festival is held in scenic Fallon, Nevada October 3, 4, and 5, 2008 come rain or shine at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. This is an acoustic music festival featuring Bluegrass, Folk, Irish Celtic and Country music. Bring the whole family as activities for all ages are planned including the World Championship Quick draw competition next door at the livestock arena. Overnight camping is available on site and motel lodging is less than a five minute walk from the fairgrounds. Food and refreshments are available throughout the weekend. The Fallon Tourism and Convention Authority encourages everyone to attend the premier music festival in the state of Nevada.

	WHISKEY BEFORE BREAKFAST Whiskey Before Breakfast features Celtic ballads of war and freedom, love and women, and of course a dram of good whiskey. Fiddle, flutes and penny whistle, and 12-string guitar round out rich traditional toe-tapping melodies & harmonies.
	BIGGEST LITTLE BLUEGRASS BAND The growing fan base of The Biggest Little Bluegrass Band agrees that these teenagers from the Sierra Nevada leave their audiences loving life, loving them, and wanting more. Formed in the spring of 2007 by a troupe of bluegrass enthusiasts in the Reno area, the half dozen young people quickly found a melded chemistry in their lively instrumentals, sweet vocals, and fun-loving personalities. 	Chris Bayer Knocking out the old-time banjo and fingerpicking early rag-time pop hits, Chris Bayer holds forth with a fusilade of wild plunk on old-time banjo and banjo-guitar. Pounding out gold rush favorites like "Seeing the Elephant"--1858-- Chris illustrates the long lost but not forgotten repertoire of far western mining songs composed for 19th century banjo. With ragtime classics like "Living A Ragtime Life"--1900--Chris raises lowdown picking to new heights. Spanning the gamut of roots syncopation, his performance gives new meaning to the word "twang."

WILD CREEK
The Reno, Nevada based bluegrass band, WILD CREEK, began in the early 80's. They blend traditional and contemporary bluegrass music to create a sound all their own. Wild Creek is a marriage of exceptional talent. The band offers a perfect blending of unique arrangements and unusual dynamics, clearly demonstrating that they are a most innovating and creative bluegrass band. The band's purpose is to drive forth with the desire to entertain, with acoustic music as its vehicle and pure energy and joy as its fuel. Wild Creek has been entertaining audiences for more than 26 years in Nevada, California and Oregon.

	SISTER CHRISTIAN SISTER CHRISTIAN is a family group that consists of mother and five daughters. Based out of Modesto, Sister Christian has been singing together all their lives. Traveling to wherever God opens a door, the group is actively involved in their church, Modesto Covenant Church. Sister Christian has shared the stage with many wonderful entertainers, including Lacy J. Dalton, Bellamy Brothers, and Juice Newton. Sister Christian released their third album "Knowing You'll Be There" in 2007.
